FAQ

Can I use white chocolate instead of almond bark or candy coating?

The candy coating or almond bark is what gives these Oreos the beautiful, glossy finish. Candy coating is a term used for chocolate like products that have been made with vegetable oil rather than cocoa butter. So using white chocolate you will not get that nice shine, so it is totally up to you.

If I don’t have an Oreo mold, can I just use a baking tray?

Yes, you do not need to go out and buy an Oreo mold, just use a bowl with the melted chocolate in it and dip them in, use a fork to get the Oreos out of the bowl and place on parchment paper.

Do I have to use blue and red candy melts? Can I use other colors?

For this patriotic sweet, then yes I would recommend sticking to the colors but if you are thinking about doing these for a St Patrick’s Day Party or Christmas then I would change the candy melts to suit.

How should I store the chocolate covered Oreos?

If you do need to store these Patriotic Oreos, the best way would be in an airtight container at room temperature. They should last a few days stored that way, although, they likely won’t last too long as your guests will love them.

Can I freeze the fourth of July Chocolate Covered Oreo Biscuits?

Yes you could freeze them if you really need to but they will not taste as good, as once they defrost I imagine the Oreo biscuit will be soft. I doubt that you will have any left to freeze as your guests will just devour them.
