Recipe notes and tips
The method is easy to follow, but I wanted to share with you a few recipe notes and tips to help you make these delicious reindeer brownies with pretzels.
- Get all of the ingredients out ready. This will help you to combine everything that you need with ease at each stage of the method.
- If children want to help, let them add the ingredients to each bowl and give the mixture a stir when you are combining the mixtures. Brownie mix is very forgiving, so perfect for little ones to help out with.
- Always pre-heat the oven before you begin. This will help to ensure that the brownies are evenly cooked.
Variations to try:
Like with many recipes there will always be variations to try. Here are a few suggestions.
- These brownies have been suggested with a Christmas theme, but the method is simple and could be used for many different occasions throughout the year. Use pink-colored sweets as a great Valentine’s brownie, add mini eggs for an Easter theme, or even create your very own Halloween brownies with different edible googly things.
- You don’t need to use milk chocolate chips, instead, why not try white chocolate chips? Or even a combination of the two to make a trip chocolate bonanza?
- Why not cut out the brownies in different shapes instead of standard squares? This could be a great way to inject a theme within the brownies. For example, a heart shape cutter could create Valentine’s brownies, or other cutter shapes like stars, circles, etc.
- You could also decorate these brownies with melted chocolate. A drizzle of white or milk chocolate across them and leave to set makes for extra deliciousness and perfect for any chocolate lover.
- Reindeer Brownies bites would also be a great idea for the kid so just make them half the size so they are bite sized.
FAQs
Like with many recipes there will always be questions that may not have been answered within the method or the recipe notes. So hopefully some of them will be answered below. If not please leave a comment or get in touch directly.
The brownies can last a few days, so they are perfect to make ahead of time if you plan on serving them at a Christmas party or other special event.
You don’t want the brownies to dry out, so a great tip is to store them in an air-tight container. You can leave them out at room temperature as the container will protect the brownies and keep them moist and scrumptious.
At room temperature, the brownies will last around three days. Although I suspect they won’t last that long. You could also store them in the fridge, but be mindful that this might change the texture.
Yes, you can. Freeze them after they have been baked and cooked. Freeze them on a baking sheet individually and then add them to a freezer bag so that you can pull out as many brownies as you need each time.
This is such a good questions as sometimes we just do not have the time to make things from scratch. You can use store bought brownies, sometimes they are quite big so best to cut in half or quarter. If you have your own family brownie recipe make that or you could buy a brownie box mix.
Enjoy your Christmas Rudolph Brownies.
